How are our insurance carriers going to know where to send payment / ERA?
Background...
We are at the very beginning of switching over to Intergy, and we were given a stack of enrollments to sign for all the major carriers. We haven’t signed any enrollments with the carriers switching them to Availity. Our concern is that we haven’t been given any enrollment papers for our insurance carriers and we start with Centricity in three weeks.
Answer...
If you transmitted all claims previously through THIN, then you will not have any additional actions to take for Availity. This is because you will be transmitting from the same entity to the insurance carriers, thus keeping your agreements in place.
If you transmitted from another entity, then you are correct. Contact needs to be made with those carriers which require agreements. This will update the records to show that claims will be coming from a different entity than the one that is on file.
